Japan has again taken its top position as the world’s most powerful passport in 2019. For the second time in a row, Japan holds the record of travel-friendly passport, though its people enjoys the access to around 190 countries.

As per the latest verdicts of the passport index listing by Hanley & Partners, three most powerful passports at present are those of Japan, Singapore and South Korea. This means those who are holding the passport from any of these countries will enjoy the liberty of entering more countries without visas.
Interestingly, all the three Asian countries share the first rank jointly as per the Hanley & Partners index. People of these countries can now relish visa-free access to 189 countries. Germany, which came at a close second, permits its citizens visa-free access to around 188 countries. The United States of America graded sixth alongside the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, and Portugal.
These passport rankings, however, keep changing from year to year. And considering the fact that most countries now offer visa-free travel, the rankings are tweaked almost every quarter.
