The people of Saudi Arabia will shortly be qualified for the e-visa facility while visiting India. The move has come in the wake of India’s constant diplomatic mission. The said verdict was taken in a conference between Indian PM Narendra Modi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Delhi earlier this week.
As per this new step, Saudi residents can apply for a visa online, with a registration approval assurance within 24 hours of the request. An e-mail of the approval will be sent to the recorded e-mail ID of the candidate. Afterwards, the candidate simply needs to show a duplicate of the same at the immigration to get a visa. The simple procedure was quite complex before, with the Saudi citizens mandatory to give biometric specifics at the embassy as well as at the consulate. The similar facts can now be furnished at the airports in India.
The e-visa facility is likely to lure more Saudi visitors to the nation. The move has been very well-received by Kerala Tourism, as the state takes a good number of travellers from Saudi and is expecting the amount to go up further. Mr Kadakampally Surendran, Minister for Co-operation, Tourism and Devaswoms opined that the e-visa facility will additionally increase the state tourism.
The said facility will be offered at a cost of US $80 per person. With this step, India has raised the figure of nations that it grants e-visa to 160 plus.
