Airlines in India have issued Independence Day travel advisory so that travellers can tackle the present heavy security measures at airports across the nation. Numerous airlines companies in India have issued travel advisories requesting passengers to reach the airport three hours in advance for domestic flights, and four hours in advance for international flights.
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) had lately asked all airports to tighten security after Section 370 of the Indian constitution was scrapped lately.
An official statement by Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi stated, “Attention Flyers: Due to higher security arrangements, flyers are requested to reach Delhi Airport at least three hours in advance for all national flights and four hours in advance for all international flights.”
Domestic airlines such as Spicejet, Vistara, and Indigo have also requested passengers to be on time so that they do not skip their flights due to the intensive security checks. Travellers should also note that all automobiles entering the airport locations will need to go through an extensive security check. Travellers can also think random checks at entry points to the terminal, and even on-ground.
Scraping Section 370 has led to many edgy moments yet, and with Independence Day tomorrow, security forces are on high alert. Of course, airports are always one of the chief institutions to get heightened security during an emergency, and this time too it is no different. Travellers should carry valid IDs as well to show their identity, both domestic and international.
