The famous tourist attraction in New York, Central Park is all set for a massive makeover worth $150 million! As per the latest plan, the spot would include an ice skating rink, and a boardwalk too. The major renovations are set to occur in the west of Fifth Avenue and south of 110th Street of the park.
The reconstruction project is occurring in collaboration between New York City’s Parks Department and the Central Park Conservancy. In the last few years, numerous renovation works have been carried out in the area where the Ravine landscape and the Loch Waterhouse were transformed. It was completed to make it accessible for pedestrians coming from the Harlem Meer, another trendy 11-acre water body attraction on the side of the park.
The pool, deck and splash pad would be made accessible only during the summer months while the pool area will be transformed into a grand ice-skating rink during the chilly winters. And for the boardwalk, the people can fish and canoe here. The reconstruction work will start in the year 2021 and if all goes fine and on time, the opening will take place in 2024.
